Getting started

Who can join The Grid.?

Any creator aged 18 or over, in any of our 19 disciplines from Music and Film to Ceramics, Tattoo and Botanical & Natural Art. If yours isn't listed, choose Other.

Do I need to verify my email?

Yes. Check your inbox after signing up and click the link. You'll need a verified email to list work, buy, or send collaboration requests.

Why can't people find my profile on Discover?

Profiles appear on Discover once they have a photo, a bio, a discipline and a location. Fill in those four and you're in.

Can I choose more than one discipline?

One main discipline for now. We're looking at adding more after the beta.

Selling

How do I list a work?

Click + List a work. You'll pick your discipline and format, add details and files, set a price, and review before publishing. Your listing appears in the Market and on your profile.

What can I sell?

Physical work you ship (originals, prints, objects) and digital downloads (audio, photos, printables, templates and more).

How can I price my work?

OptionHow it works
Fixed priceYou set the price; buyers pay exactly that.
Pay what you wantYou set a minimum (and a suggested price); buyers can pay more.
Make an offerBuyers propose a price; you have 24 hours to accept, decline or counter.
AuctionBuyers bid until the end time; the highest bid wins if it meets your reserve.

How do audio previews work?

Upload a short public clip (30 to 60 seconds) that anyone can play. Buyers get the full file only after they pay.

Do I need to set up payouts first?

Yes. Connect Stripe from your profile before publishing, so buyers can pay you. It takes about 5 minutes. You can save a listing as a draft in the meantime.

What happens to my listing after it sells?

Downloads with unlimited copies stay on sale. A limited edition stays on sale until every copy is sold, and a one-of-a-kind work (an edition of 1) sells once. When a work sells out, it leaves the Market but stays on your public profile with a Sold label, so visitors can still see what you've made. If an order is refunded, that copy goes back on sale.

Fees & getting paid

What does The Grid. charge?

A flat 10% platform fee on each sale, plus Stripe's card processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). No monthly fees, no listing fees. You see exactly what you'll receive before you publish.

Example: a $10 sale

USD
Sale price$10.00
Platform fee (10%)−$1.00
Card processing (2.9% + $0.30)about −$0.59
You receiveabout $8.41

Stripe confirms the exact processing fee on each sale, so the final amount can differ by a few cents from the preview.

How do I get paid?

Payments run through Stripe. Once your Stripe account is approved, Stripe pays your earnings out to your bank account automatically. There's nothing to request.

Which countries can receive payouts?

Right now: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area (except Iceland). If you're elsewhere, you can still create a profile and collaborate; we're working on adding more countries.

What currency are prices in?

All prices are in US dollars.

Buying

How do I pay?

By card, through Stripe's secure checkout. We don't offer buy now, pay later.

How do I get a digital download?

After paying, open your order from your Dashboard and click Download. Each purchase includes 5 downloads. If you run out, email support@thegrid.studio.

How does shipping work?

The seller ships your order and adds tracking. When it arrives, open your order and confirm delivery. If you don't, delivery is confirmed automatically 21 days after shipping.

I made an offer or won an auction. Now what?

You'll get an email with a payment link. Pay within 24 hours, or the sale is cancelled and the work goes back on sale. If the seller sends a counter-offer, you have 48 hours to accept or decline.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by The Grid. directly. Email support@thegrid.studio with your order details and we'll help. Refunds go back to your original card, and your bank may take 5 to 10 days to show them.

Collaborating

How do I start a collaboration?

Find a creator on Discover, open their profile and send a collaboration request with your idea, a suggested timeline and a budget. They can accept or decline, and you'll find every request in your Dashboard.

How does payment work for a collaboration?

Once a request is accepted, the person who proposed it can pay through The Grid., using the same secure Stripe checkout and the same 10% fee as sales.

What if someone bothers me?

You can block any creator from their profile menu. They won't see you on Discover or be able to send you requests, and they won't be told. You can also report a profile or listing.

Your account & privacy

How do I change my details?

Go to My Profile from the account menu and click Edit. Payout settings are under Payments via Stripe on the same page.

How do I stop marketing emails?

Turn off marketing emails in Settings. Account and order emails are always sent.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings and choose Delete account. First complete or cancel any open orders, offers or collaboration requests. Deleting can't be undone.

How do I see, correct or delete my personal information?

Use our privacy request form. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
